Sculptures in the Grass
Sculptures in the Grass
The inaugural Sculptures in the Grass exhibition officially opened on Sunday 14 June 2026 at the Tambo Dam, welcoming visitors, artists and community members to celebrate Tambo’s newest outdoor art experience.
Presented by the Tambo Arts Council and supported through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF), Sculptures in the Grass brings together art, nature and community in a unique setting overlooking the dam. The exhibition aims to showcase creativity, encourage local participation and establish a permanent sculpture trail that will enhance Tambo’s visitor experience for years to come.
The exhibition was officially opened by Blackall-Tambo Regional Council Mayor Andrew Martin and judged by renowned Mitchell sculptor Kyle Mansfield, whose large-scale recycled metal sculptures have become a feature of regional Queensland art events.
Kyle praised the quality and diversity of entries in the inaugural exhibition and acknowledged the challenge of selecting award winners.
